Continuous Improvement (CI) Lead

Job Overview

Supervises a team of quality technicians, inspectors, and/or engineers, ensuring effective in-process controls and defect prevention. 

Responsibilities

  •  Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving

    • Lead and execute CI projects using Six Sigma, Shainin Red X methodologies.
    • Apply Shainin tools such as Red X Problem Solving, Component Search, Paired Comparison, BOB/WOW, and Multi-Vari charts for variation reduction.
    • Facilitate RCA with structured techniques: 8D, DMAIC, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA.
    • Drive reduction in internal rejections, customer complaints, scrap, rework, and process variation.
    • Strengthen process control through robust PFMEA, Control Plans, Standardized Work, Error-Proofing
    • Use data analytics, SPC, MSA, and Shainin diagnostic tools to improve process capability and predict failures.
    • Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Program Management, Maintenance, and Supplier Quality to drive improvement.
    • Lead structured CI project governance reviews and support decision-making for plant leadership.

    Training, Capability Building & Culture Development

    Train teams in Lean Principles, Six Sigma problem solving, and Shainin Red X tools and techniques.
    • Mentor and develop CI practitioners (Yellow Belt, Green Belt).
    • Promote a continuous improvement mindset across the organization through Kaizen engagement programs.

Education and Knowledge

  • BE/ B.Tech (Electronic, Mechanical)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (Mandatory), Black Belt preferred.
  • Shainin Red X Certification / Training preferred
  • Certified Internal Auditor (IATF16949 / VDA 6.3) preferred.

Critical Experience

  • 5-10 years of experience in CI, Quality, Lean Manufacturing, or Process Engineering.
  • Proven success in leading high-impact projects
  • Experience in automotive, aerospace, electronics, or high-volume manufacturing operations.
  • Good technical knowledge.
  • Strong command over Lean, Six Sigma, and Shainin Red X methodologies.
  • Hands-on knowledge with SPC, MSA, PFMEA, Control Plan, DOE
  • Experience using analytical tools (Minitab, Power BI, Red X software preferred)
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to lead change, coach teams, and drive cross-functional alignment.
  • Analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and project management capability
  • Good teamwork and coordination skills.
  • Strong Communication Skills Clear reporting and explaining findings.
