The Senior Project Management Engineer will lead strategic engineering projects and capability-development initiatives for the Mechanical Engineering Center of Excellence (ME COE) in AES, supporting next-generation data-center interconnect products.
Working with technical leaders, product development teams, and global cross-functional partners, this role translates technical roadmaps into executable plans, manages risks and dependencies, and drives timely delivery.
The ideal candidate combines mechanical or product engineering expertise with strong project management skills across simulation, design, testing, validation, and engineering process or tool development.

Roles & Responsibilities:

•    Lead the planning and execution of ME COE initiatives, including method and tool development, evaluation, and adoption across structural, thermal, and dimensional management domains, as well as project support within the CTO organization.
•    Translate technical roadmaps into clear project scope, milestones, deliverables, ownership, schedules, and success criteria in partnership with technical leaders.
•    Coordinate activities across global engineering, product development, laboratory, manufacturing, supplier, and cross-functional teams.
•    Maintain project plans and performance dashboards to track actions, deliverables, resources, dependencies, risks, decisions, execution metrics and project impact; use these insights to support portfolio prioritization and capacity planning.
•    Facilitate technical reviews, drive risk mitigation and escalation, and communicate status and priorities to leadership and stakeholders.
•    Partner with technical leads to validation, standardization, document, and scale engineering methods, models, automation, and tools across the ME COE.
•    Improve engineering workflows and knowledge-management practices to increase execution efficiency and reuse across the ME COE.

Mandatory Skills:

•    Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
•    4+ years of engineering or product development experience, including leadership or coordination of technical projects.
•    Experience in multidisciplinary environments involving mechanical design, simulation, testing, manufacturing, or product development.
•    Proven ability to manage concurrent projects, schedules, resources, risks, dependencies, and stakeholders across global teams.
•    Working knowledge of product development from concept through design, validation, and release, with the technical judgment to identify risks, decisions, and required stakeholders.
•    Strong planning, organization, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.\

Preferred
•    Experience with electrical interconnects, connectors, data-center hardware, electronics, or other high-reliability products.
•    Familiarity with CAE and predictive engineering, including FEA, CFD, thermal, tolerance, reliability, or multiphysics analysis.
•    Experience delivering engineering methods, tools, automation, or simulation workflows.
•    Knowledge of Agile, Stage-Gate, APQP, or comparable development methodologies.
•    Experience with project dashboards, KPIs, portfolio reporting, and resource or capacity tracking.
•    PMP or comparable project management certification.
