DESCRIPTION:
As a Senior Technical Writer at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll create clear, comprehensive documentation for complex scientific products and software platforms. Working in a collaborative environment, you'll make cutting-edge technology accessible to customers across life sciences, healthcare, and research fields. This role offers the opportunity to blend technical expertise with creative communication skills while contributing to innovations that help make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

The position offers remote work flexibility and focuses on developing high-quality technical content across multiple formats, including user guides, API documentation, training materials, and product documentation. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams of scientists, engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly content that enhances the customer experience.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of experience in technical writing, with expertise in API documentation, user guides, and developer documentation
• Preferred Fields of Study: Technical writing, communications, life sciences, health economics, or related scientific field
• Advanced knowledge of structured authoring, DITA, and content management systems
• Strong proficiency with documentation tools including MadCap, Swagger, XML editors, and source control systems (Git, GitHub)
• Experience with HTML, CSS, Markdown, and technical documentation best practices
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Proven ability to understand and clearly convey complex technical and scientific concepts
• Experience working in Agile development environments and managing multiple concurrent projects
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
• Experience mentoring other technical writers and driving documentation strategy
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry, clinical research, or scientific instrumentation preferred
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Experience with bibliographic referencing software beneficial
• Client-facing experience and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to priorities in a professional environment
