Job Description

About the Role

Join our innovative R&D team and contribute to the development of next-generation electron microscopy and analytical instruments that enable groundbreaking scientific discoveries.

As a Systems Design Engineer, you'll work at the intersection of physics, engineering, and advanced technology, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to design, develop, and optimize sophisticated scientific instruments.

Your work will focus particularly on Focused Ion Beam (FIB) technologies, including ion optics, beam simulation, and system-level performance optimization. Y

ou'll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies such as charged particle optics, high-voltage systems, vacuum technology, precision mechanics, and advanced automation.

Your contributions will help advance technologies used in semiconductor manufacturing, materials science, and life sciences research.

  • Design, develop, and optimize complex systems and components for advanced electron microscopy and FIB instruments.
  • Simulate ion-beam trajectories and evaluate beam performance using Electron Optical Design (EOD) software.
  • Apply your knowledge of charged particle optics, electrostatic and magnetic lenses, beam focusing, and deflection to improve system performance.
  • Contribute to system architecture, requirements definition, integration, and validation activities.
  • Analyze complex technical challenges and develop innovative, practical solutions.
  • Apply statistical methods and Design of Experiments (DOE) to evaluate and optimize system performance.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicists, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and software developers.
  • Support technical projects and share knowledge with colleagues to drive successful development outcomes.
  • Contribute to product quality, reliability, and continuous improvement, with a strong focus on customer needs.

  • University degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related technical field, with at least 3 years of experience developing complex technical systems, preferably in electron microscopy or semiconductor equipment.
  • Strong understanding of charged particle optics, including electrostatic and magnetic lenses, beam focusing, and deflection.
  • Experience with ion-beam simulation and electron optical design tools, such as EOD software.
  • Solid understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements management, system architecture, and integration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with statistical methods and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Proficiency in technical computing tools such as Python or MATLAB.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: electron optics, high-voltage systems, vacuum technology, precision mechanics, motion control, or automation.
  • Experience contributing to technical projects, guiding technical activities, and supporting colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering and scientific disciplines.
  • Strong commitment to product quality, reliability, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
  • Good written and spoken English.

  • Flexible working hours to help you balance work and personal life.
  • 25 days of vacation plus 5 sick days per year.
  • Financial benefits, including an annual bonus, pension contribution, and access to life and health insurance at preferential rates.
  • Discounted mobile plans for you and your family members.
