Location/Division Specific Information

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and technically skilled Test Technician to join our team at the Tewksbury site. This role will have a direct impact on the success of the Compliance Test Solutions (CTS) Business Unit.

 

CTS is a leader in providing ESD testing equipment that helps manufacturers meet critical test requirements, reduce the risk of catastrophic product failures, ensure product quality, and accelerate time to market. CTS products are recognized for their reliability, performance, and dependability.

We are seeking a strong team professional with hands-on electrical/electronics experience and demonstrated ability in testing, troubleshooting, and debugging electronic systems and components. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently on technical problems while collaborating closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Service teams.

 

How will you make an impact?

As a Test Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and quality of our products. You will power up, configure, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and debug our electronic test systems and assemblies, using schematics, technical documentation, and electronic test equipment to diagnose issues down to the component level.

You will perform failure analysis, PCBA and component testing, system-level testing, repair, and final quality verification. Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Service teams, you will help identify root causes, resolve technical issues, and drive continuous improvement in product quality and manufacturing processes.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform system power-up, configuration, calibration, functional testing, and final verification, accurately documenting results and generating required test and calibration reports.

·       Troubleshoot and debug our ESD test systems including sub-assemblies, PCBAs, and components using schematics, wiring diagrams, technical documentation, and diagnostic test equipment to identify and resolve system-, board-, and component-level failures.

·       Perform failure analysis, repair, and verification of PCBAs and electronic components, identifying defective components, determining root causes, and supporting appropriate corrective actions.

·       Diagnose, repair, test, and verify products returned through the RMA process and support field service troubleshooting in collaboration with Engineering and Service teams.

·       Support daily manufacturing activities, including product assembly, electrical testing, inspection, calibration, and quality verification.

·       Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Service teams to resolve technical issues, investigate recurring failures, support process improvements, and communicate findings effectively.

·       Maintain accurate testing, repair, calibration, and failure analysis records while following established safety, quality, and ESD procedures and continuously developing technical and product knowledge.

 

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a closely related electrical/electronics field, or equivalent relevant education and hands-on technical experience.

• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in electrical/electronics testing, troubleshooting, debugging, manufacturing, repair, or field service, with demonstrated ability to diagnose system, PCBA’s,  and component-level failures.

• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation and use diagnostic equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and related test equipment.

• Hands-on experience with PCBAs and electronic components, including testing, troubleshooting, soldering, rework, and proper ESD handling practices.

• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently, accurately document technical results, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation and apply electronic troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques to identify and resolve technical issues.

• Proficiency using multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and related electronic test equipment, with hands-on experience soldering, reworking, and safely handling electronic components and PCBAs.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow test procedures and work instructions, accurately document results, and use computer-based systems for reporting and communication.

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Service teams.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $24.00–$36.00.
