Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is seeking a data-driven Payments Analyst to join the Payments – Financial Solutions team. This role focuses on leveraging data analytics to optimize payment performance, improve transaction success rates, and enhance overall operational efficiency across all WBD properties, including Max, Discovery+, Harry Potter Studio Tours, and DC Universe Infinite.

Your Role Accountabilities
Transaction Data Analysis & Insights:
Analyze high-volume transactional datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies impacting payment performance.
Partner with Payments teams to define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as authorization rates, decline rates, and conversion metrics.
Perform root cause analysis on transaction declines and payment processing issues.
Deliver data-driven insights to improve payment acceptance rates and reduce customer friction at time of payment.
Ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies affecting reporting and analysis.
Data Automation & BI Development:
Build and optimize SQL queries to extract and analyze payment data efficiently.
Support development of dashboards and visualizations using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik) to monitor payment performance.
Standardize metrics, data tables, and reporting logic across teams.
Reduce manual reporting by implementing automated and scalable data solutions.
Reporting & Strategic Support
Deliver recurring and ad-hoc reports on payment performance and operational metrics.
Provide insights and recommendations to optimize payment strategies and user experience.
Support leadership with data analysis for strategic initiatives and performance tracking.
Contribute to continuous improvement of data processes and reporting frameworks.
Delivering consistent data and reports to key stakeholders to keep them informed with the performance of payments for their line of business.
Cross-Functional Analysis & Issue Resolution
Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to investigate payment processing issues and system behaviors.
Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Identify inefficiencies or gaps in payment flows and recommend improvements.
Support data-driven evaluation of new payment features, tools, and integrations.
Qualifications and Experience
Work Experience
1+ years of experience in payment analytics, financial data analysis, or transactional data analysis.
Experience working with payment processors and large datasets.
Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, Business, or related field.achelor’s degree in finance, Business, Analytics or other similar discipline or comparable business experience
Knowledge/Skills
General understanding of Card Payments, billing, tax, and reporting systems.
Strong SQL skills for querying and analyzing large datasets.
Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
Ability to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in transactional data.
Familiarity with payment metrics (authorization rates, declines, conversions).
Good analytical skills displaying the ability to tell a story with data.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across various departments and stakeholders.
Familiarity with payment industry regulations is a plus.
