5 Activities to Do With Your Kids During Corona Summer Times

No one could have ever imagined a summer like the one we are currently in and as a parent after the last few months of lockdown, our imaginations have been tested on creative ways to keep our children entertained.

Between juggling zoom calls, homeschooling my two young sons in the place of nursery and unfortunately given the spike in corona cases in parts of Europe our summer holidays will be spent at home here in the UK and these are just 5 activities we plan on doing.

  • Camp Out

Thankfully we have a garden and a space to put up a tent big enough for all of us to camp out under the stars. As we all know British weather can be unpredictable but here’s hoping we last night!

  • Visit a local nature park

We have woods nearby and the boys love exploring through the trees and trying to chase after squirrels (which never ends well).

  • Cooking

Miles and Theo are avid helpers in the kitchen especially if I’m making Risotto (Miles’ favourite) or anything that includes chocolate and Theo is happy to assist. I’ve been cooking since the age of 3 and it’s fun watching them both get excited at taking part, whether it’s stirring the big spoon or helping me put decorations on cupcakes.

  • Pavement painting

Get some fun coloured chalk for your kids and you can create some really fun chalk murals and designs. Really easy to rinse away but don’t make the mistake I did and collect the chalk before you head back indoors otherwise you also have wall paintings to clean up.

  • Plant flowers or vegetables

Use the summer to teach your kids how to plant! Plant flowers or vegetables in your flower bed or in a pot by your home. They can water it every day and watch them bloom!
