Nicholas Kisling, Wholesale Coordinator, Performance Inspired at The North Face spoke to myGwork providing 5 reasons why other graduates should join VF Corporation.
The opportunities: From day one I was trusted with a high level of responsibility, and I very quickly had my impression confirmed, that both managers and HR are keen to push for young talents to develop and succeed. Only a few months into my traineeship, my manager approached me about a coordinator position opening in the wider team, encouraging me to apply. Six months into VF, I found myself promoted in the new position.

Work with a brand you love: I’ve always had two hearts beating in my chest: a longstanding appreciation for the outdoors and a keen interest in fashion, lifestyle and urban culture. Working at The North Face, I get to work for a brand that has always united these two worlds and that I can fully identify with, which keeps me motivated and inspired. They say “Do what you love and love what you do” – here I get to do both of that.
The culture: At VF, people see eye to eye, and your voice matters. Ever since I joined, I felt encouraged to share my opinions, my concerns and to pitch my ideas, regardless of my position or age. At lunch, we all sit together and chat about our weekend plans, share stories and joke around – interns, managers, and directors. Lines are short and communication is easy!
The community: VF is all about community. As most of the people at VF are expats, coming from all over the world, new joiners are welcomed with open arms, and it won’t take long until you’ll make friends across the organisation. We all know how it is to relocate and not knowing anyone around your new home. Feel free to hit colleagues up for an aperitivo and you’ll quickly find yourself invited to the next weekend hike, skate session or dinner party!

The Location: No matter if you decide to live in Como, Varese or Lugano –
there’s plenty to discover around the area! Spend your weekends hiking in the
mountains of Switzerland and Italy, explore the picturesque towns around Lake
Como, go for a swim or get a flavour of big city life in Milan. If you feel
like seeing your family and friends abroad (or just feel
like a change of scenery), Malpensa Airport is always just a short train ride
away!
