5 Tips on how to stay motivated

5 Tips on how to stay motivated

June 11, 2018

1. Visualise your end goal

Professional athletes visualise their entire performance ahead of time, right down to how it feels it to cross that finish line. Write your goals down and imagine what it will feel like to complete them, down to the minute details.

2. Know why you want to achieve your goal

It’s easy to get distracted, so write down a list of reasons for why you want your goal – and write them down with pen and paper. Studies have shown we mentally connect more to the words we write down psychically rather than type.

3. Break your goal into manageable steps

Motivational speaker, Tony Robbins, once said, “A major source of stress in our lives comes from the feeling that we have an impossible number of things to do. If you take on a project and try to do the whole thing all at once, you’re going to be overwhelmed.” Instead, break down your project into smaller parts that you can achieve more easily.

4. Be prepared to fail, but don’t give up

As Thomas Edison has said: “I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work… Our greatest weakness lies in giving up." Success only comes to those who are willing to change their strategy, adapt, and persevere.

5. Be willing to accept help

Even if you can accomplish your project without the help of others, it can be beneficial to share what you’re doing. Announcing your intention sends a message to the world, and your subconscious mind, of what you want to achieve.
