1. Don’t push yourself if you’re feeling sick
If you’re feeling sick it’s okay
to take some time off and rest. Pushing through it can just make you sicker.
2. It’s okay to say ‘No’
A common reason people feel
stressed is they take on too much responsibility and have too little time to do
it. It’s okay to say “No” to some things, whether it’s work or chores around
the house. Don’t overburden yourself if you don’t have the time.
3. … But manage what you do take on
Make a list of all the jobs you
have to do and work out exactly how long it’ll take you to do them. Order them
by priority, keep procrastination to a minimum, and delegate what you can. Again,
don’t overburden yourself.
4. Almost every problem has a solution
Stress can often be caused by a
problem that, on the surface, looks impossible and completely unmanageable.
Remember to keep a level head: almost every problem can be solved if you relax
and think rationally about it.
5. Try relaxation techniques
Try meditation, once you get the knack for it you can do it almost anyway. Breathe deep and focus on one thing: whether it’s your breathing or a mantra you repeat over and over. This simple technique can relax you and make it easy to focus and solve the problem in front of you.
