Feeling peckish but not wanting to reach for another chocolate bar? Here are eight healthy high protein alternatives.

1. Trail Mix

An excellent source of protein mostly made up of dried fruit and nuts, trail mixes are a great snack idea – just don’t go overboard, a single handful is a reasonable serving.

2. Greek Yogurt

With just one cup containing 20 grams of protein, Greek yoghurt is an ideal healthy snack. It is also high on calcium, which is good for bone health.

3. Veggies and Yoghurt Dip

Vegetables are great snacks, but they don’t have much protein on their own, pair them with some yoghurt dip.

4. Tuna

Tuna is not only loaded with protein (on average 39 grams per cup), it is convienent and incredibly healthy.

5. Hard-Boiled Eggs

Loaded with almost every nutrient your body needs, with especially high levels of vitamin B.

6. Peanut Butter Celery Sticks

Peanut butter is a great source of protein, and combining it with celery makes for an especially healthy snack.

7. Cheese Slices

Cheese is incredibly healthy and filling, in addition to being a quick and easy snack. It is an excellent source of calcium, phosphorus and selenium, and it contains small amounts of many other nutrients

8. Almonds

Juts an ounce of almonds has six grams of protein, in addition to high amounts of vitamin E, riboflavin, trace minerals and healthy fats.
