Actor Chloë Grace Moretz comes out

Chloë Grace Moretz has spoken openly about her sexuality for the first time.

According to ‘Gay Times’, on November 1, the star of ‘Kickass’ made the announcement through a heartfelt Instagram post discussing the 2024 US Presidential election and her support for Vice President Kamala Harris.

“There is so much on the line this election. I believe the government has no right over my body as a woman, and that the decisions over my body should come ONLY from myself and my doctor,” she wrote.

“Kamala Harris will protect that for us. I believe in the need for legal protections that protect the LGBTQ+ community as a gay woman. We need protection in this country and to have access to the care we need and deserve.”

In the conclusion of her post, which included a photo of an ‘I Voted Early” sticker, the young star urged her followers to rally their friends and vote using IWillVote.com.

Following her statement, fans have turned to social media to express their support for Moretz.

One Twitter/X user remarked: “My gay awakening being gay is exactly what I needed in life.”

Another admirer tweeted: “Love you Chloë Moretz, lesbians keep winning.”

A third user noted: “Sapphics everywhere just took a sigh of relief.”

Though Moretz’s recent post is the first time she has identified publicly as a gay woman, she has previously attracted attention regarding her sexuality.

For the past six years, The Peripheral star has been linked with model/photographer Kate Harrison since TMZ published photos of them kissing in Malibu, California, in 2018.

Following that day, the rumored couple has shared charming photos of each other on Instagram and have been seen together frequently in public.

In a 2022 interview with the i, Moretz offered a glimpse into her personal life: “I like to keep my private life private. I’m in a long-term relationship. And I really enjoy that.”

Although the couple has not officially confirmed their relationship, they fuelled engagement rumours in April when they were observed wearing rings on their left hands at Disneyland.
