Actress Accused Of ‘Homophobic’ Facebook Posts Sues For Religious Discrimination

September 30, 2019

Seyi Omooba, a 25-year-old up-and-coming actress was given the lead role in a stage version of ‘The Colour Purple’.

But just a day after she was cast, a five-year-old Facebook post emerged where she quoted the bible to express her Christian beliefs and is now being sacked as a ‘homophobe’.

While talking with ‘The Mail’ the actress said she has been a victim of religious discrimination.

“I’m heartbroken,’ she said. ‘If I’m unable to get back to the stage, then I feel there is no point. It’s the only thing I have ever wanted since I was a young girl.”

She and her lawyers will be filing a breach of contract against the Curve Theatre in Leicester and her former agents.

This case reignites the controversy about whether Christians can publicly express or hold views they say are based on the Bible.
