Anti-LGBT Politician Resigns After Being Caught at 25-man "Sex Party"

December 3, 2020

A senior ally of anti-LGBT Hungarian Prime Minister Vicktor Orban, Jozsef Szajer, has resigned as an MEP on Sunday after admitting to being present at a "private party" widely reported to be a 25-man orgy in the European Capital of Brussels.

The MEP, who helped re-write the Hungarian constitution to specify that marriage is only between a man and a woman, was apprehended by policing attempting to climb down a drainpipe to escape lockdown-breaking party. He was found with a backpack containing narcotics, some reports allege, but Szajer insists in his statement that they are not his and he has no clue how they got there.

Instrumental in helping Orban carry out his anti-LGBT crackdown across Hungary, Sazjer's amendments to the constitution are often cited when measures are brought in to discriminate against otherwise-law-abiding LGBT+ Hungarians. Police reports claim Sazjer, who was reportedly found with blood on his hands an ecstasy pill in his pocket, claimed Diplomatic Immunity when police attempted to arrest him. Lacking his diplomatic papers, they took him into custody and released him when his identity could be verified. In a statement, Szajer asked his constituents not to consider the incident, but rather to hold it up against a record of over 30 years service. He also apologised to his wife, family, party, Victor Orban and Hungary for his actions.

Two other claims of diplomatic immunity were reportedly made by members of the party, which has been described in media as a decadent gathering of alcohol, drugs, and men from political services in the capital of the EU. Social media accounts allege these were made by two Polish diplomats, representing staunchly "pro-family", anti-LGBT Polish governing party PiS, but this is yet to be confirmed.
