Ariana Grande Set to Headline Manchester Pride

February 26, 2019

Manchester Pride has confirmed rumours that Ariana Grande will indeed be headlining this year’s festivities, reports the BBC.

Rumours circulated that a big-name act was set to appear after the steep increase in price for tickets, rising to £70.95 for a weekend pass from last year’s £22 to £28.

The occasion will mark almost two years since the May 2017 terror attack at a Grande concert in Manchester which claimed 23 lives.

Grande was made an honorary citizen of Manchester two weeks after the attack by the city council.

She held a benefit concert “One Love” to raise funds for the victims of the attack: "There are so many people who have suffered such loss and pain. The processing part is going to take forever,” she had said.

"At Manchester Pride Live we're truly honoured to be welcoming Ariana back to the city to help us celebrate LGBT+ life," organiser Mark Fletcher said.
