BBC Greenlights Sequel All-Female Dating Show ‘I Kissed A Girl’

After the immense success of BBC Three gay dating show I Kissed A Boy, the TV company has announced plans to continue the show by shifting the focus onto LGBTQ+ women. Still hosted by pop icon Dannii Minogue, who plays the role of the matchmaker, the lesbian reality series I Kissed A Girl will feature a group of single women all looking for romance.

The UK’s first queer romance show was announced earlier this year, with the groundbreaking 10-part series I Kissed A Boy airing exclusively on BBC iPlayer in May 2023. The show saw ten men grouped together with the hope of being partnered with a potential romantic partner. Just one month later, the BBC confirmed the sequel series, and are currently looking for ten LGBTQ+ women to take part.

Matchmaker and international pop star Dannii Minogue expressed her joy at the show being renewed for a new season, stating “After showing love truly is for everyone with I Kissed A Boy, I am thrilled to have the chance to be Cupid again for girls in this second series.

“I’m so excited to see if we can find more connections, chemistry and hopefully love sealed with a kiss - here come the girls.”

Fans took to social media to express their delight at the recommission, including Minogue herself who uploaded a video following the announcement.

Continuing to beat stereotypes and remove stigma for LGBTQ+ romances, sequel series I Kissed a Girl is expected to air exclusively on BBC Three on iPlayer soon.
