British officials are returning a medal to a war veteran who was stripped of it because of being homosexual. Joe Ousalice was given a medal for his long service and good conduct but was c confiscated from him after he was discharged from the Royal Navy and revealed he was bisexual, according to ‘ABC News’.
To reclaim his medal, he had taken his case to court.
The Defense Ministry said its policy had been "wrong, discriminatory and unjust.”
British officials plan to return medals to other veterans who were treated the same way.
