Bob Dylan and Kesha release album full of gay love songs for same-sex weddings

April 6, 2018

Bob Dylan and Kesha have teamed up to re-record classic love songs with a gay twist. Dylan has taken ‘She’s Funny That Way’ and turned it into ‘He’s Funny The Way’, while Kesha has recorded a song ‘I Need a Woman to Love’.

Tom Murphy, a co-producer on the album, said the idea was to provide music for same-sex weddings: ‘If you look at the history of pop music, love songs have predominantly come from one heterosexual perspective. If we view music as something that brings people together, shouldn’t these popular songs be open to everyone?’

The album also features contributions from Bloc Party, St Vincent, Benjamin Gibbered, and Valerie June.

The album, titled ‘Universal Love’ can be found on Spotify now.
