Burberry announces new “rainbow check” to support LGBT+ charities

February 15, 2018

Fashion powerhouse Burberry has announced they’re incorporating a new “rainbow check” into their iconic print. It is meant as a celebration of the LGBT+ community and a percentage of the profits will go to three LGBT+ charities.

The fashion house said in a statement: “Burberry is supporting three LGBT+ charities dedicated to broadening support for this community around the world. The rainbow, a symbol of inclusiveness and joy, is celebrated throughout the February collection.”

The three charities that will benefit from the “rainbow check” are the Albert Kennedy Trust, the International, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association, and The Trevor Project.

The check is part of Christopher Bailey’s final collection: “My final collection here at Burberry is dedicated to and in support – some of the best and brightest organisations supporting LGBTQ+ youth around the world. There has never been a more important time to say that in our diversity lies our strength, and our creativity.”

The new pattern will be available in their autumn/winter 2018 collection.
