Sony Pictures employees across the globe come together for Pride celebrations all year long to honor and uplift the LGBTQ+ community and its creativity and cultural influence. While Pride Month is officially observed in June in the U.S., Japan, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Spain, Germany and the UK, our teams around the world embrace Pride year-round in ways that reflect their local cultures, stories, and communities. Employee Business Resource Groups (EBRGs) OUT @ Sony Pictures and OUT EMEA hosted events and conversations that championed empathy, learning, and connection, all helping foster a culture of belonging at Sony Pictures. Check out some programming highlights from this past year!
Over in Los Angeles, celebrations included marching in the LA Pride Parade this summer alongside iconic rides like Ghostbusters’ Ecto-1 and Sweet Tooth’s ice cream truck from Twisted Metal, panel discussions with LGBTQ+ leaders in the industry, and an electric happy hour on our studio lot.
In London, OUT EMEA hosted a joyful coffee gathering, a colorful Pride-themed quiz, and proudly marched in the Pride in London Parade with other Sony groups. The OUT EMEA Paris team joined with fellow EBRG Advocates for Gender Equality, Neutrality, Development & Action (AGENDA) for a lively bingo game and Q&A session, creating space for connection and conversation.
Teams in Japan hosted a virtual discussion with myGwork exploring LGBTQ+ experiences and how to foster an inclusive environment in the workplace. And from Miami to Mexico City, employees also took part in their local Pride parades, celebrating the power of community.
Thank you to all our EBRGs and employees who continue to foster a Sony Pictures culture where people feel empowered, included, and inspired to do their best work!
