Developing Skills and Creating Inclusive Spaces: Mia Eden's DAZN Journey

Mia Eden joined DAZN this year while completing her master’s degree. She’s a People’s Development Advisor and is based in our Leeds office. When she’s not working, you may find her playing some football with her team around Headingley or playing the bass guitar with her band in a Leeds or Manchester’s venue.

How did your DAZN journey begin?

My DAZN Journey started post university graduation. I studied Journalism with a PGC in History and was open to jobs in different sectors to begin my career. DAZN had advertised a People’s Development Apprentice role which intrigued my passion for L&D, as well as my interest in sport – the apprenticeship also felt like a great way to further my learning about L&D and allow me to pursue a career in Learning & Development.

Tell me about your role at DAZN

I am a People’s Development Advisor. It involves designing and delivering training programs to enhance the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of employees within DAZN. This involves creating training within our Learning Zone, enhancing employee experience, and closely targeting areas such as Manager Development and DEI.

Tell me about being the co-lead of the Proud ERG

Being a co-leader of the Proud ERG feels like an excellent way for me to develop my skills within L&D, alongside creating an overall safe space, culture, and environment for LGBTQ+ employees at DAZN. With ERG’s such as Proud, it enables us to bring together a group of people that would like to share experiences, concerns, thoughts, and feelings in regard to being LGBTQ+ both within and outside of work. Creating and maintaining an inclusive culture within DAZN is essential to me as a Proud ERG co-lead & a People’s Development Advisor.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their career at DAZN?

The advice I would give to somebody starting at DAZN would be to remain curious about all of the possibilities to enhance your career. DAZN is ever-changing and fast-paced, therefore there will always be new opportunities to learn something. Remaining curious & developing your skills enables higher quality performance, both inside and outside of work.
