Disability Pride Month: myGwork Partners Recognised for Disability Inclusion

July 23, 2026

A myGwork feature · Disability Pride Month (July)

Overview

Disability Pride Month is marked every July, commemorating the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in July 1990. It celebrates disabled people as a proud part of human diversity and challenges the stigma that still surrounds disability at work and in wider society. For employers, it is a moment to move past awareness and look honestly at what they are doing to attract, retain and progress disabled talent.

This article highlights myGwork partner organisations that have earned credible, publicly documented recognition for supporting people with disabilities. Recognition here means one or more of: membership of The Valuable 500 (the global CEO community for disability inclusion), a top score on the Disability:IN Disability Equality Index (DEI) or a "Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion" listing, UK Disability Confident status (particularly Level 3 "Leader"), partnership with the Business Disability Forum or an equivalent certification, or an established disability or neurodiversity employee network. Every entry below is backed by a public source.

The list is not exhaustive, and inclusion is not an endorsement of every practice at these organisations — recognitions and scores change year to year. It is a snapshot of partners whose disability-inclusion work is visible in the public record as of July 2026.

Key facts at a glance

  • Around 70 myGwork partners have publicly documented disability-inclusion recognition.
  • Many are signatories to The Valuable 500, including ABB-scale multinationals such as BAE Systems, the BBC, Capgemini, Deutsche Bank, GSK, HPE, Novartis, Standard Chartered, The Coca-Cola Company, Vodafone and the Financial Times.

The Valuable 500: disability on the leadership agenda

The Valuable 500 is a global community of 500 companies whose chief executives have made a public commitment to putting disability inclusion on their leadership agenda. It is one of the clearest signals that disability is being treated as a board-level priority rather than a compliance exercise.

myGwork partners in The Valuable 500 include Allianz (an "Iconic Leader"), Arup, BAE Systems, the BBC, Capco, Capgemini, CGI (via CGI IT UK), Clifford Chance, CMS (via CMS UK), Colt Technology Services, Compass Group, Deutsche Bank, the European Investment Bank, the Financial Times, FleishmanHillard, GSK, HPE, Invesco, Johnson Matthey, Kantar, MSD/Merck, Novartis, Quadient, RS Group, RELX (parent of RX Global), Skyscanner, Springer Nature, Standard Chartered, Superdrug, The Coca-Cola Company, The Phoenix Group, Virgin Media O2 and Vodafone.

Disability:IN and the Disability Equality Index

The Disability Equality Index, run by Disability:IN and the American Association of People with Disabilities, is a leading benchmark of corporate disability inclusion. A score of 100, and a place on the "Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion" list, reflects strong performance across culture, leadership, accessibility, employment practices and community engagement.

Partners recognised through Disability:IN and the DEI include Accenture (top scores across multiple countries), Altria, Amazon, Bank of America, Biogen, Boston Scientific (named a Best Place to Work for nine consecutive years), Fiserv, HP, HPE, Jabil, JLL, Lululemon, Moody's, Nike, Pfizer, Reckitt and S&P Global. Gilead, Elsevier, Mars and State Street partner with Disability:IN on recruitment, training and pledges.

UK Disability Confident and Business Disability Forum

In the UK, the government's Disability Confident scheme runs from "Committed" (Level 1) through "Employer" (Level 2) to "Leader" (Level 3), while the Business Disability Forum offers expert partnership and the "Disability Smart" standard.

Disability Confident Leaders (Level 3) among the partners include GSK, Ingeus, Santander UK, Travers Smith and Vodafone UK. Others hold Disability Confident status at Committed or Employer level, including Avalere Health, Colt Technology Services, Compass Group UK & Ireland, HCA Healthcare UK, Omnicom Media Group UK, Premier Foods, Skyscanner, Superdrug, University of East London and Virgin Media O2. Partners working with the Business Disability Forum include Arup, AstraZeneca, the Financial Times, Mayer Brown, Santander UK, The Phoenix Group and Vodafone.

Employee networks driving day-to-day inclusion

Beyond external benchmarks, many partners run active disability, accessibility and neurodiversity employee networks that shape policy, improve workplace adjustments and support colleagues. Examples include Allianz's Allianz Beyond, BAE Systems' ENabled UK, Bank of America's Disability Advocacy Network, Boston Scientific's LEAD, Capgemini's CapAbility, Clifford Chance's Enable, Deutsche Bank's dbEnable, Gilead's ADAPT, Kennedys' DANDI, Kyndryl's TrueAbility, Lewis Silkin's AccessAbility, Moody's EnAble, Santander UK's Enable!, Springer Nature's Disability & Neurodiversity Network, Virgin Media O2's Ultraviolet, Vodafone's VodABILITY and WTW's Workability network.

Special mentions

Fundación ONCE (Spain) stands apart: founded in 1988, it dedicates the majority of its budget to training and employment for people with disabilities and runs the INSERTA Empleo employment programme, making disability inclusion its core purpose rather than one initiative among many.

The United Nations adopted its system-wide UN Disability Inclusion Strategy (UNDIS) in 2019, with accountability reporting designed to make the organisation an employer of choice for persons with disabilities.

UKTV is a signatory to the industry-wide TV Access Project, working with fellow broadcasters to improve accessibility across the television sector.

Frequently asked questions

What is Disability Pride Month?

Disability Pride Month is observed each July to celebrate disabled people as part of human diversity and to challenge disability stigma. It commemorates the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), signed into law in July 1990.

How were partners selected for this article?

Each featured partner has at least one credible, publicly documented form of recognition for disability inclusion — such as The Valuable 500 membership, a Disability:IN Disability Equality Index score or listing, UK Disability Confident status, a Business Disability Forum partnership, or an established disability employee network.

What do these recognitions actually mean?

They are external signals that an organisation has invested in disability inclusion — from board-level commitment (The Valuable 500) to benchmarked practice (the Disability Equality Index) and government-recognised UK employment standards (Disability Confident). They do not guarantee a perfect experience for every disabled employee, and scores are reassessed periodically.

Why do some entries refer to a parent group?

Where a recognition sits with a parent company or a specific national entity rather than the exact partner organisation (for example Allianz, BNP Paribas, Compass Group, LVMH, RELX or Vodafone UK), this is noted so the attribution is accurate.
