Discovering new perspectives and diverse cultures with Skyscanner

June 10, 2025

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) are integral to Skyscanner’s mission and operations. Recognising that travel is about discovering new perspectives and experiencing diverse cultures, Skyscanner is committed to ensuring that travel is accessible and inclusive for everyone.

At Skyscanner, LGBTQ+ inclusion isn’t performative—it’s practical, intentional, and continuous, woven into culture, policy, and leadership accountability.

At Skyscanner, we celebrate Pride by lifting up voices, enhancing allyship and creating a culture where everyone can be proud to be who they are—every day of the year, not just in June.

It’s important to remember that Pride began as a protest. We wouldn’t be celebrating it today without the Stonewall Riots, which took place in the early hours of 28 June 1969. These riots were led by brave trans women of colour like Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera—activists who demanded visibility and justice for queer communities.

Pride is a celebration—but it’s also a call to action.

Pride month at Skyscanner

At Skyscanner, Pride is more than a month—it’s a continued commitment to visibility, equity, and inclusion for our LGBTQ+ colleagues, travellers, and communities.

Throughout June, we’re celebrating Pride by sharing stories, creating space for education, and enhancing allyship.

This includes:

  • A global Pride Panel exploring allyship and LGBTQ+ travel experiences
  • Spotlights on LGBTQ+ employees and advocates across the business (through blogs)
  • A podcast focusing on allyship and mental health support for LGBTQ+ individuals.
  • Socials and celebrations where we support LGBTQ+ owned businesses
  • Celebrating local Prides in each of our office locations

We’re intentional in how we show up. We don’t just change our logo or run a campaign for visibility. Our Pride efforts are part of our broader, year-round commitment to DEI, backed by:

  • Ongoing support through RISE Proud (our LGBTQ+ employee network)
  • Policy and practice reviews that centre LGBTQ+ inclusion, including transitioning guidance.
  • Leadership accountability through executive sponsorship
  • Having gender neutral toilets in most of our office locations
  • Education and allyship training that goes beyond performative gestures
  • Membership of Stonewall and MyGwork to support our efforts
  • Supporting and attending community Awards
  • Supporting LGBTQ+ charities
