Ellen DeGeneres Says She’ll Continue Her Show While Trump is in Office

Ellen DeGeneres has said she will not be ending her daytime talk show, at least not for the foreseeable future, reports Deadline.

The talk show host admitted that her wife Portia de Rossi had been urging her to quit so she would have more time to relax and focus on other projects, although she herself felt “torn” about this.

She said her brother had been insisting that she should stay on TV, while Trump was in office, as her voice was needed now more than ever.

“He just feels like this is a really important time to be on television too, to put out kindness and a voice that you don’t get to hear and see a lot. I love doing the show and I also love doing other things,” she said.

DeGeneres recently released a stand up special on Netflix: “I do love it and will do it again, just not full-time. It’s a hard life.”

Her production company the Ellen DeGeneres Network (EDN) has several projects in the pipeline: “I just want it to be a company that I’m proud of. We have animation, we have TV, we have movies, we have reality. I like just a whole broad range of things.”
