Brandon Robbers, Market Manager and Pride Inclusion Business Group board member at Expedia Group, spoke to myGwork about why he chose the travel industry, and the highlights of his career so far. Providing a personal touch, he explained why he values the opportunity to travel, and what being a board member in the Pride Inclusion Business Group means to him.

The hospitality industry is an industry that can never and will never disappear. Barry Diller once said, “When there is life, there is travel.” He is absolutely right. Traveling broadens perspectives, builds connections, opens eyes to new things, and brings out the best in people. Growing up, I did not get to travel a lot. Vacations were rare and incredibly special to me, so when I realized I could make a career out of helping make people’s vacations even more special, I was sold.
I consider myself very lucky to work for a company like Expedia Group where our mission is to power global travel for everyone, everywhere. Expedia Group is dynamic, fast-paced, and there are so many opportunities to flex my creativity. I’ve had an absolute blast over the last 6 years working with hoteliers to make travelers’ trips even sweeter. The cherry on top with Expedia Group is the 8 Inclusion Business Groups focused on elevating underrepresented individuals at the company which translates to those using our sites. Being on the Pride Inclusion Business Group Board has empowered me to be the voice for those in the community, update/create company policies, provide allies with tools to be more inclusive, and truly foster a positive environment for the LGBTQIA+ employees and allies alike.
Being in the travel industry keeps you on your toes and makes every day unique and exciting. The combination of meaningful work, personal growth, and my amazing teams make my job a source of fulfilment and enjoyment.
