Ethan Stables found guilty of planned terror attack on Pride event

Ethan Stables, a twenty-year-old white Supremacist, has been found guilty of preparing an act of terrorism, threats to kill, and possessing explosives. Stables had planned to attack gay people with a machete at a pride event last year in Barrow, Cumbria. The police received a tip off about the attack when Stables posted his plans on a far-right Facebook group. The police stopped him as he was on his way to the pub.

His mother told the courts that he had become brainwashed by extremists during a trip to Germany. He had a swastika flag hanging in his flat, several alarming googles searches on his computer, including: “I want to go on a killing spree”, “how to make chemical poison” and “what is prison like for a murderer” And a series of aggressive whats app messages: “I might just become a skinhead and kill people.”

His lawyer described him as “lonely and inadequate” and that he was on the autism spectrum. While Stables claimed he only did any of this because he was ashamed of being bisexual.
