Famed ISIS executioner who threw gay men off buildings bribes way out of jail

Abu Omer, who infamously threw gay men off the top of buildings in a horrific 2015 video released by ISIS, has bribed his way out of jail. The escape reportedly took minutes when Omer – known as ‘The White Beard’ – bribed a guard with what amounted to £5,500.
Human rights group the Clarion Project reported the release, describing it as a “remarkable failure of the Iraqi justice system”. UN Ambassador Nadia Murad was also appalled that “this ISIS terrorist detanee who used to slaughter people” has gained freedom. “We ask for justice,” she said, “we demand UNSC resolution to be implemented immediately.”
Omer was part of ISIS’s dramatic and violent push against homosexuality. The terrorist group has released a series of graphic videos depicting the beheading and murders of gay men in an attempt to taunt the west. Other reported incidents including the burning gay men alive, stoning them to death, and dragging them behind trucks.
A report from the Human Rights Campaign states: “ISIL’s extreme ideology is interpreted by its followers to require the death penalty for those who engage in sexual relations outside of heterosexual marriage, including same-sex relations.”
For many in Syria and Iraq justice is, unfortunately, far off.
