Festivals and friendships: promoting cultural exchange at Reckitt

Reckitt, a global company behind some of the most well-loved brands for health and hygiene such as – Dettol, Durex, Finish, Vanish and more – has a diverse workforce spanning 68 countries and comprising more than 100 different nationalities.

Across the offices in Asia, they recognise the importance of integrating local cultures by fostering work environment that respects and celebrates cultural differences.

The Singapore office is made up of more than 20 different nationalities and celebrates local festivals across various cultures, encouraging employees to participate in traditional dress days and festive activities. For instance, during Diwali, employees share their traditions and enjoy festive meals together. This approach not only enriches the workplace culture through an exchange of individual cultures but also fosters a sense of belonging and community among employees.

In Thailand, the team celebrates Songkran, the traditional Thai New Year, with enthusiasm. Fully embracing local traditions, the employees engage in water-splashing activities and other cultural festivities.

In Hong Kong and Taiwan, Reckitt marks Lunar New Year with special events and activities. Employees share their traditions, enjoy festive meals, and participate in cultural performances. These celebrations highlight the company's dedication to respecting and integrating local customs, creating a vibrant and inclusive workplace.
