‘Game of Thrones’ star Maisie Williams and her boyfriend Reuben Selby have opened up about rejecting gender 'norms' and labels in fashion, as she enjoys a new venture outside of acting.
Maisie, who is working alongside partner Reuben on a newly-launched fashion label, spoke to Tatler about defying conventions.
As ‘Metro’ reports, while discussing the idea of gender fluidity, Maisie explained that while she identifies as female, she doesn’t define her image by labels. “I identify as a female, [but] I think that fluidity between your image can be celebrated freely,” she said. “I like that I don’t need to label that, I guess, and can just express myself that way and still feel, and identify, as female.”
Talking about her boyfriends designs, Maisie explains: “Reuben doesn't really see clothing as having any specific gender. It’s just an image.”
Opening up about his own gender identity, Reuben said that he had always “felt fluid “but is wary about labelling himself as such.
“I've always felt fluid, but I don't think it would be right for me to label it as that because it's a difficult conversation,” Reuben said. “I don't really have any boundaries.”

Although Maisie is currently enjoying helping Reuben with his designs, the actress did take some time to reflect on ‘Game of Thrones’ – and revealed that although she misses the show, there is a sense of freedom that's come from it ending.
“I miss the people, absolutely,” Maisie said. “It was such a great connection that we all had. We were on the most successful show of all time, but when you're in it, you don't get to do anything else but be on the show.”
