Is @realDonaldTrump the most #LGBT friendly president? @MSignorile pressed @gregorytangelo of @LogCabinGOP while at #CPAC2018: pic.twitter.com/JvZo6hf56J

In this new interview he again defends Trump, saying “This is the first president to enter the White House who believes that marriage equality is settled law of the land. Barrack Obama didn’t believe that when he entered the White House, Hilary Clinton only came around to that position in 2013.
“As I’ve long said, if you’re calling Donald Trump out for what are actual or perceived biases against the LGBT community, you have to call a spade a spade, highlighting the pro-LGBT things he has done.”
However, Trump has a long and contradictory history with the LGBT+ community. He has said same-sex marriage is “the law of the land”, but he has also said that “I would be very strong in putting certain judges on the bench that I think maybe could change things”.
He has also been vehement in supporting the Masterpiece Cakeshop case of the baker who discriminated against a gay couple and refused to bake their wedding cake. His Justice Department have tried to walk back civil rights issues too, claiming LGBT+ discrimination is not covered by the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Not to mention his campaign to have transgender people banned from serving in the military.
