Jennifer Lopez surprised a gay teenager who was banned from delivering his valedictorian speech by bringing him backstage at a concert in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, reports Buzzfeed.
Nat Werth was not allowed to deliver his speech because it contained gay content.
“In the rough draft of my speech that I submitted to the administration, I came out in it,” he said.
“I told them I’d be willing to take it out, but they didn’t trust me, because that’s when they found out I was gay.
“And because they knew that I was gay, they chose not to let me give the speech.”
The story came to the attention of Lopez who tweeted at Nat:“Nat, thank you for celebrating with me… Always standing with you. Continue to use your voice and spread only love and acceptance. Don’t stop being you.”
Nat later said the meeting was an “absolutely an amazing experience he will never forget.”
