Gossip Girl’s Jason Gotay Marries Fiancé Michael Hartung
October 15, 2021“What. A. Day.” is how Gossip Girl’s Jason Gotay, 32, described his wedding to 30-year-old fiancé Michael Hartung this week.
The couple reportedly exchanged vows in a ceremony with under 100 people in attendance at The Kester Homestead in Memphis, New York, on Monday (11 October).
They announced their engagement in January, according to Attitude.
Posting an image of himself from Monday morning on Instagram, the actor, who is appearing in the teen show's hit reboot, didn’t reveal much about the occasion – but indicated photos were imminent.
In an Insta Story, he said: “I got married but all I can post from my wedding is me in [this] hat on the morning of the big day.
“Photos to come, and I know they're gonna be incredible. Love to all who reached out. What. A. Day.”
The actor posted a sweet black and white image of himself with Hartung on 1 October with the caption: “I marry this man in 10 days. I think I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.”
People magazine reports the pair wore matching cream-colored suits and used wedding planner Jason Mitchell Kahn.
One source told the magazine that “the vows were emotional,” and that the ceremony took place in a small outdoor area that felt like an “oasis in the forest.”
They added that all the guests were invited to hold hands in a circle to spread the love before the party.
A second source told the magazine: “The day was magical.”
Gotay’s mother is reported to have spoken at the event with Gotay serenading his partner. The two met on the set of NBC’s Peter Pan Live in 2014 and began dating shortly after.
