If you are finishing a degree in 2027, the graduate application season is already under way. Most big employers open applications between September and December, and the popular schemes fill up months before the deadline. It is a lot to keep track of, so we have gathered every myGwork partner currently listing graduate roles on their early-careers page, grouped by sector.
Every employer below has committed to LGBTQ+ inclusion as a condition of being on myGwork. That means an active LGBTQ+ network, inclusion policies that go beyond the legal minimum, and a willingness to be asked about both. You should not have to choose between a good first job and a workplace where you can be yourself, and with these companies you don't.
Amazon runs graduate and early-career programmes across operations, software, finance and more, in most countries where it operates. HP has graduate schemes in engineering, sales and business functions. eBay and Booking.com both take graduates into product, engineering and commercial roles. Capgemini and CGI are the two consultancies on the list, with large annual graduate intakes into technology and consulting.
This is the biggest group. GSK, Novartis and Gilead Sciences all run structured graduate programmes across R&D, commercial, manufacturing and corporate functions. Thermo Fisher Scientific, Boston Scientific and Danaher sit on the equipment and devices side. If you have a science degree and are not sure whether you want the lab or the business, these programmes tend to let you try both.
ABB runs the Discovery programme, where graduates choose their own rotations. We wrote about two of its graduates last week. Johnson Matthey takes graduates in chemistry, engineering and sustainability. Jabil and Avery Dennison both have manufacturing and operations schemes. Arup is the one for civil, structural and environmental engineers, and for anyone who wants to work on buildings and infrastructure.
Standard Chartered Bank runs international graduate programmes across banking, with intakes in the UK, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. S&P Global takes graduates into data, ratings and analytics. WTW is the route into actuarial, insurance and consulting. JLL has graduate schemes in commercial property and real estate. Clifford Chance is the law firm on the list, with training contracts and vacation schemes.
Elsevier, LexisNexis Legal & Professional and LexisNexis Risk Solutions are all part of RELX, and between them cover scientific publishing, legal information and data analytics. Good options for graduates who want to work with information at scale without being a pure software engineer.
Mars and Reckitt both run well-known graduate programmes in marketing, supply chain, finance and R&D. Puig is the fashion and fragrance house, with early-careers roles across its brands. JTI has a global graduate programme across functions. Compass Group UK & Ireland is currently taking registrations of interest rather than live applications, so sign up now and you will hear when the next intake opens.
BAE Systems and Pfizer are currently listing industrial placements and summer internships rather than graduate roles. Both are worth a look if you are a year or two from graduating. Placement years are the single most reliable route into a graduate job at the same company.
Pick three or four, not twenty. Graduate applications take time, and a thoughtful one beats a scattergun. The employer pages linked above show you the live roles, the LGBTQ+ network and what the company has actually done on inclusion, which will give you something specific to say in the "why us" question.
If you want to speak to these employers directly, most of them will be at WorkFair on 4 November, our free virtual careers fair for LGBTQ+ students and graduates. It runs from 11am to 7pm GMT. A fifteen-minute chat with a recruiter at their virtual booth will tell you more than an afternoon on their website. Details and registration at mygwork.com/workfair.
And if you are not sure where to start, the myGwork mentoring programme can pair you with someone who has been through it. They will tell you which schemes are worth it and what the interviews are really like.
