Heartstopper creator shares exciting update on the sixth and final volume
June 3, 2024Alice Oseman has shared thrilling news regarding the concluding volume of Heartstopper.
In April 2023, the Solitaire author announced that the sixth instalment of the beloved comic series would be its last.
“SOME NEWS! Heartstopper Volume 5 will be released on November 9th 2023, in the UK/Ireland/Australia/New Zealand.. and there will be a Vol 6, the final Heartstopper volume,” they posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Over the past year, Oseman has remained fairly quiet about the upcoming volume––until now.
According to ‘Gay Times’, During a Q&A session on 30 May on their Tumblr page, the Radio Silence author expressed feeling “pretty good” about the upcoming project, adding that they’ve completed the story’s first draft sans the artwork.

“Everyone who’s read it has had really positive responses,” Oseman added. “I’m gonna make some tweaks to it, and then I’ll be starting to draw pretty soon! Which is the fun bit!”
In a different question, Oseman was asked if the equally popular Netflix series would adapt volume six, to which they replied, “If we get a season 4, it will be in season 4!”
While volume six is still in progress, fans won’t have to wait too long for new Heartstopper content.
On 13 May, Netflix announced that the highly anticipated third season of the show will premiere on 3 October.
Along with the release date, the streaming service released an adorable clip from the new episodes, featuring Charlie (Joe Locke) and Nick (Kit Connor) saying “hi” (very uncharacteristically) before each complimenting the other’s cap and cut-off shirt.
The season’s official synopsis reads: “Charlie would like to tell Nick that he loves him. Nick also has something important to say to Charlie.
“As the summer holiday ends and the months race on, the friends begin to realise that the school year will come with both its joys and its challenges.
“As they learn more about each other and their relationships, plan social events and parties and start thinking about university choices, everyone must learn to lean on those they love when life doesn’t go to plan.”
Season three will also mark the return of Yasmin Finney as Elle, William Gao as Tao, Corinna Brown as Tara, Kizzy Edgell as Darcy, and Tobie Donovan as Isaac.
More star power incoming: Jenny Walser as Tori, Cormac Hyde-Corrin as Harry, Rhea Norwood as Imogen, Fisayo Akinade as Nathan, Chetna Pandya as Coach Singh, and Bradley Riches as James.
Unfortunately, Sebastian Croft (Ben Hope) and Olivia Colman (Sarah Nelson) won’t be returning, with the latter recently confirming that she couldn’t “fit it in“ with her busy schedule.
