Heathrow displays rainbow flag made of kisses in celebration of Pride in London

If you’re flying into Heathrow this week you might notice a large Pride flag above Terminal 2, the Queen’s Terminal. The flag was commissioned by the airport and made with the help of over 6,000 passengers and airport staff who kissed the flag with either red, orange, yellow, green, blue, or purple lipstick to make the rainbow.

Carol Hui, Heathrow’s Chief of Staff, explains the artwork: “We’ve been getting into the spirit of Pride right across the airport to show our support for London and the rest of the UK, where diversity and equality are so strongly celebrated and equally valued across our employees and passengers alike.

“Many of the LGBT+ community travel into London, to celebrate this incredible festival so we wanted to give them a warm welcome by, quite literally, flying the flag for Pride.”

Over the weekend, Heathrow welcomed 5 percent more passengers than last year’s London Pride.
