Hi, I am Rafal Szaniawski, and I am conducting a doctorate research - impact of coaching among cis- gay men (at Oxford Brookes University). I am currently finalizing the scope of my research and want to understand the profile of cis-gay men who ever received coaching.
So I am hoping some of you will connect with me and help me help our community.
Please note that selecting only cis-gay men does not aim to exclude anybody. It's a decision to make sure the research is feasible within certain timeframe and its findings can be a valuable addition to body of evidence.
Who am I?
I am a doctoral researcher at Brookes University and am in the phase of defining my narrow research area which is coaching cis-gay men. I am also a cis-gay man, a coach, trainer, writer and a very active human :)
Why am I making appeal publicly?
There is very little evidence and research around coaching and its impact on cis-gay men so in order to better understand the landscape, I wanted to see who You are.
Just being aware of who You are, looking at your profiles and potentially chatting with you, will give me a better overview of the group's profile.
Why it matters?
Because then I can narrow the final research scope, for example understanding if a group of certain age, professional background, educational attainment, location etc can be a research population. This will result form understanding who You are AND looking at the existing research. (e.g. there is one looking into coaching gay men of age 25-54 within workplace).
What are the next steps?
If you want to chat with me about this research, or anything else, let me know. I would love to get to know you. Again, not to store / process them, but to understand a profile of this group of more than 20 men who contacted me.
In reality, I would love to simply connect and get to know you and your life story.
In Q1'2025 I should finalise the research area and I may be in touch to formally invite you to the research, after getting approval from the University Ethics Committee.
