1. Are they actually that bad?
Take a few weeks and figure out if this is just a bad time for them, if the company is going through a stressful period, or if you just got off on the wrong foot.
2. Try and understand where they are coming from
Is there a reason why they might be acting this way? Look for what their motivation could be and be forgiving. This might give you some valuable insight into their management style.
3. Don’t become a bad employee in response
Continue working hard, finishing projects on time, and putting your head down. Being lazy or rude back won’t do you any favours.
4. Stay a step ahead
If your boss is micromanaging you figure what they’re going to say to you before you do it. Look sharp and stay ahead, eventually they might ease off and trust you.
5. Establish boundaries
Keep a balance between your work and personal life and don’t let them overstep it. Keep your distance and don’t sink to their behaviour.
