On 17th of May, the European Investment Bank Group is observing the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOT), taking place during the European Diversity Month.
This year’s theme "No one left behind: equality, freedom and justice for all" is a call for unity: only through solidarity for each other will we create a world without injustice, where everyone is truly included.
The celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights last year reminded us that the promise “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights” is not yet fulfilled — for LGBTIQ people across the world, and for everyone enduring the effects of multiple layers of inequality.

On the eve of IDAHOT, the EIB Group celebrated the 10th anniversary of its employee resource group “EIB Proud” composed of colleagues who identify as LGBTIQ as well as allies. EIB Proud organised a panel discussion with senior management and staff members on the importance of LGBTIQ inclusion in the workplace and the Group’s operations.
