Irish Comedian Eleanor Tiernan Comes Out
July 1, 2020Irish comedian Eleanor Tiernan has come out, sharing the news on Twitter stating she realised she was gay “later in life” and that she is “very much here and queer now.”
“My news... it is my nervous and joyous pleasure to tell you all that I am gay. A gay woman. Lesbian if you will,” she wrote.
“It’s something I’ve come to later in life (usual for me) but very much here and queer now”.
According to ‘RSVP Live’, the comedian received a countless number of positive response from supporters to which she hilariously replied she would be prioritising her replies to the gay community.
“Please understand if my response is slow to you tho. I will get back to you. For my future wellbeing however I need to prioritise the lesbians among you at this difficult time”.
When one not-so-supportive follower said asked: “Did you know you were gay all along, or did you discover it "later in life"? If you claim the latter, I'm not convinced. If you claim the former, what took you so long to come out?”
To which Eleanor replied: “I didn’t look at Philip Schofield and think ‘That looks like good craic’ mate”.
