Jade Carey comes out as queer as she reveals her girlfriend. The Olympic gymnast recently made her relationship with girlfriend Aimee Sinacola public by sharing it on Instagram.

In her post from March 19, the 24-year-old praised her new romance as “happy,” accompanied by a white heart and love letter emoji.

According to ‘E Online’, Jade also posted several photos of herself and the creative director posing together, with the last picture showing her riding on Aimee’s back while displaying the gold medal she earned at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Many of Jade’s fellow gymnasts shared their congratulations in the comments. Her teammate Simone Biles described the couple as “freaking cuuuuuute.” Team USA peers Suni Lee, 22, and Jordan Chiles, 23, also chimed in; Suni called them “angels,” and Jordan enthusiastically commented, “Periodt!!!!” Gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik expressed his support with, “GO JADE!”

Aimee celebrated their romantic debut on her Instagram Stories, writing “ily” above the heartfelt post. She also reposted a touching message from Nellie Schafer, the Director of Volleyball Operations at Oregon State University, where Jade studies. Nellie commended the pair’s bravery in going public with their relationship.

“Representation and visibility are so important,” Nellie wrote, adding that she was “beyond proud” of the couple for taking this step. “Sports will always be a catalyst for change and inclusion. It takes folks being brave and their most authentic selves in these spaces.”

Nellie’s words resonate especially because this public announcement marks the first time Jade has openly discussed her sexuality. Outside of sharing her love life, Jade reflects on her accomplishments in gymnastics, including recently receiving her own Barbie doll.
