Jeffrey Tambor To Be Killed Off Transparent After Misconduct Claims

April 15, 2019

Jeffrey Tambor’s character Maura is set to be killed off the series ‘Transparent’ after accusations of sexual misconduct were made public last year.

‘Transparent’ creator Jill Soloway, who is non-binary, explained the decision in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.

“It was important [for the show] to go through all those stages. The show has always been a reflection of who we were and we were mourning our own narrative,”Soloway said.

The series will finish with a feature length telemovie that will explore how Maura’s family deal in the aftermath of her death.

Tambor’s former assistant on the show Van Barnes, as well as co-star Trace Lysette both accused the actor of sexual harassment. Tambor denies the allegations.
