Kim Woodburn's Anti-Trans Stance Condemned By LGBTQ+ Community

December 6, 2022

During a controversial appearance on GB News, Kim Woodburn is facing a backlash from the LGBTQ+ community after making a number of transphobic comments.

According to Gay Times, the professional cleaner, who has a huge LGBTQ+ following and is regularly booked to appear at Pride events, was asked if she was worried that her views on unisex changing rooms would result in her being “labelled a transphobe or a bigot.”

“Look, if I’m going to be labelled that then get on with it,” she swiftly responded, adding: “I give not a jot. If I don’t want to show a man, accidentally, my knockers, or my bottom half, dear, which could easily happen, then I’m being labelled? [Because] I don’t want to show my bare body to a strange man? What?”

Kim proceeded to joke and urged the presenter to not “talk utter rubbish” about the topic.

“A man’s a man, a woman’s a woman,” she continued. “And women who say they don’t mind sharing a dressing room with a man, they must be sexually frustrated and need to see something naughty! I don’t! I don’t, dear. I’ve got a husband who gives me all the needs I require. I don’t need to see men’s penises through their underpants.”

LGBTQ+ fans of the star were quick to call her out on social media, especially given that she has appeared to support the community in the past.

“Well, this is disappointing @kimwoodburn,” one wrote on social media. “The LGBTQ+ community have kept your career going and you spout these untrue talking points on this JOKE of a 'news' channel. Bye. Don’t these people have ANYTHING better to talk about?!”

Another added: “Kim Woodburn needs to return her gay icon card. Imagine turning against the only community keeping you relevant. No room for transphobia, no excuses.”

A third said: “Well, this is quite disappointing @kimwoodburn you’ve always had support of LGBTQ+ yet, you’ve decided to throw the T under the bus, shame on you! No place for TERF.”
