Louisiana Lawyer Sues Public Libraries For Letting Drag Queens Read to Children

A Louisiana lawyer is suing the Lafayette Public Library for hosting Drag Queen Story Time, reports The Advertiser.

Chris Sevier, who is famous for attempting to marry his computer in protest of gay marriage, and suing Apple for his porn addiction, is suing the Lafayette Public Library for hosting the popular children’s event.

Drag Queen Story Time happens annually across the United States with an array of drag queens reading picture books to children in a bid to promote acceptance and diversity.

The event has been controversial in Lafayette since it was announced, with Mayor Joel Robideauxsaying: “I will also be asking the library’s board of control to conduct a thorough review of its programming and approval process for taxpayer-funded events.”

Sevier is claiming the story time is in violation of the First Amendment, and allegedly promotes “secular humanism.”
