Michigan, U.S.A., passes landmark law decriminalising surrogacy & protecting LGBTQ+ parentage rights

Even if these families relocate to states with less comprehensive rights, the act ensures they cannot be stripped of their parental relationships.
Additionally, the law overturns Michigan's unique prohibition on surrogacy contracts, enhancing protections for surrogates, parents, and children alike. It guarantees equal legal standing for children born through surrogacy and assisted reproduction, streamlining the legal procedures for families to establish connections with their children.
