Mike Pence will become the first sitting Vice President to speak at the anti-LGBT+ conference, the Values Voter Summit, HRC reports.
The Values Voter Summit is an annual gathering of conservative politicians in Washington DC, hosted by the anti-LGBT+ Family Research Council (FRC). Past conferences have claimed LGBT+ activists “normalise paedophilia”, that same-sex parents are mire abusive, and the It Gets Better campaign is “disgusting.” FRC is classified as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Centre.
Pence will speak on a panel called ‘How Gender Ideology Harms Children’ alongside anti-LGBT+ activists Dr. Paul McHugh and Peter Sprigg.
Other speakers at the conference include former Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, Senator Ted Cruz, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, as well as the Masterpiece Cakeshop baker who refused to bake a gay couple a wedding cake, Jack Phillips.
