Milton Keynes Amazon team assembles 500 sexual health kits for LGBT Foundation

Employees at Amazon’s sortation centre in Milton Keynes have prepared 500 sexual health kits for LGBT Foundation as part of Pride Month activities supporting LGBTQ+ people across the UK.

Fifteen staff members took part in the volunteering initiative, assembling kits with essential sexual health items that LGBT Foundation will distribute to individuals and families who face barriers in accessing products and services, MKCitezen reports.

LGBT Foundation, a national charity based in Manchester, delivers counselling, health services and advocacy for lesbian, gay, bi and trans people, providing critical support to those experiencing isolation, discrimination or crisis.

The Milton Keynes packing event was organised through Glamazon Gives, Amazon’s LGBTQ+ employee-led community giving programme. In partnership with LGBT Foundation, Glamazon Gives has coordinated more than 20 Amazon teams around the country to prepare and donate 30,000 sexual health kits during Pride Month, including 2,500 from sites across South East England.

Robby Saroya, an employee at the Milton Keynes sortation centre who volunteered at the event, said:

“Volunteering for LGBT Foundation with my colleagues meant a lot to me. It says something about a workplace when it puts its people and resources behind causes that matter. It let me show up for my community in a way that would be hard to manage on my own time. Doing it shoulder-to-shoulder with my colleagues made it even more rewarding.”
