MPs To Debate Parents Involvement With LGBT-Inclusive School Lessons

MPs are set to discuss parental involvement with LGBT-inclusive lessons taught in primary schools, despite having already voted to approve the new curriculum, reports The Times.

The motion was brought forward by Labour MP Roger Godsiff who has been controversially siding with the Birmingham protesters, telling them they were “right” and fighting a “just cause” against the inclusive lessons.

“It has caused real anger in our community,” said Jess Philips, Labour MP for Birminghamabout Godsiff’s comments.

“I have had messages from gay and lesbian parents who he represents very worried about it. Parents don’t get to choose bigotry and anyone suggesting otherwise is wrong.

“Taking on those who want to exclude LGBT families from modern Britain is something every Labour member should support because the party of equality can’t pick and choose which discrimination it fights,” added Stella Creasy, Labour MP for London Walthamstow.
