Fabuloso in the Park

Since 1996, the main Brighton Pride festival event has taken place in one of the city’s largest parks, Preston Park. Recently rebranded as Fabuloso in the Park, this festival celebrates Pride through a shared love of music and art, providing platforms to various LGBTQ+ figures and prominent allies. Over the past decade or so, the event has grown immensely in popularity, with the likes of Elton John, Kylie Minogue, Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey headlining the festival. This year, the main stage is led by the Black-Eyed Peas and Steps, as well as many other prominent stars.

Pride Parade

Every year, it’s important to remember what the Pride event is all about. Initially starting as a protest in the 1960s and serving as a reminder of our presence and our persistent fight to achieve equality, Pride is a moment to reflect on how far we have come as a community, and what there is still left to achieve. Setting aside the parties and clubbing to focus on diversity, inclusion, authenticity and confidence, the annual Pride Parade is held to uplift LGBTQ+ voices in the most public way possible.

Club Revenge: The Big One

Brighton’s biggest LGBTQ+ club Revenge is hosting one of the biggest parties of the weekend. Whether you’re on your way out of the Fabuloso festival or finding a post-parade party to attend, this event has you covered. With strict anti-discrimination policies and their constant slogan “don’t be a d*ck” postered around, Club Revenge is intended to be a safe environment for the LGBTQ+ to let down their hair and have fun!

Concorde 2 - Pride Disco Afterparty

Also welcoming an inclusive atmosphere is venue Concorde 2 with their Pride Disco Afterparty. Aiming to celebrate love, equality and diversity with an unforgettable night of music and dancing, they also have a lineup of LGBTQ+ DJs to keep the good vibes going. Expect Disco, House and classic queer anthems this Saturday night.

Dykes on Deck - North Laine Brewhouse

Local Brighton DJ collective Dykes on Decks have teamed up with the duo from Gay Panic Podcast to host an LGBTQ+ speed social. Tuesday 1 August will see Dykes on Deck kick off the annual Brighton Pride celebrations with an exciting and inclusive twist on the speed-dating format. With the hope of bringing together LGBTQ+ people, whether it’s as friends or something more, those behind the event encourage introverted people to attend to get to know more people within their community.

Patterns – Pride Rock

For members of the LGBTQ+ community who prefer something a little less pop and a lot more rock, Patterns’ Pride Rock event is perfect for those who love live music. With a lineup of queer artists including Hot Milk, Inme and Stone Angels, Patterns venue promises a night to remember that stands out from the rest of the celebrations in the city.
