Director, Global Division, The National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC)
Whether from its headquarters in Washington, DC or in any of the offices of its affiliates in the United States, for more than two decades the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) has argued that economic and social visibility go hand in hand with the LGBTI community’s need to promote equality and equal opportunities for all. Beyond its distinctive role as the business voice of our community, the largest advocacy organization dedicated to expanding economic opportunity for LGBTI people and being the exclusive certification body for businesses owned by members of the LGBT community, NGLCC and its affiliated local chambers in the United States provide LGBTI businesses with the opportunity to expand and develop their networks of contacts. Its award-winning programs that promote supplier diversity practices, skills training, corporate alliances, and trade policy advocacy efforts make NGLCC extremely important to the economic growth of LGBTI businesses in the United States and throughout the world.
NGLCC Global is the international division of NGLCC and it was officially launched in 2014. The Global Division of NGLCC is made up of a network of more than 13 Chambers of Commerce and LGBT Business Networks around the world, including chambers affiliates in Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, India, Japan, Scandinavia, Scotland, South Africa and Uruguay among others. While NGLCC serves as a connecting point of learning and resource sharing for its global affiliates, each chamber operates as an individual organization.
In terms of promoting supplier diversity globally, NGLCC Global works closely with affiliated chambers within the region, nonprofit organizations that promote the growth of diverse businesses, and multinational corporations that aim to create or increase their LGBTI supplier base so that more and more LGBTI-owned businesses can be part of their supply chain processes and thus provide more LGBTI-owned businesses access to various contract opportunities available within the international corporate sector which in turn may increase their revenue and potential to grow. To that end, LGBTI-owned businesses seeking to register as international LGBTI supplier can do so through NGLCC at https://my.nglcc.org and reach out to any of our global affiliates for additional guidance as they are the official in-country organizations abroad in charge of promoting and supporting this process. If your business is not based within any of our affiliated chambers you can still register as an international LGBTI supplier and reach out to [email protected] if you need additional support.
