In 2026, more LGBTQ+ professionals are crossing borders for work, study and new life opportunities. A move to another country or city often reshapes both personal and professional life. Finding inclusive workplaces, understanding local culture and rebuilding a network can feel challenging without guidance.
myGwork’s Country Ambassador Scheme exists for this exact moment. It links LGBTQ+ professionals who are new to a place with local members who already understand the city, its job market and its LGBTQ+ business community.
The Country Ambassador Scheme is a volunteer network of myGwork members who:
Country Ambassadors live and work in the locations they support. They bring first-hand experience of how open local workplaces feel, which sectors lead on inclusion and which networks matter for career growth.
The concept grew from the experience of myGwork co-founder and CMO, Adrien Gaubert. Early in his career, Adrien moved from Paris to Guangzhou and wanted to meet other LGBTQ+ professionals for support, mentoring and advice. He searched for a structured professional network that centred LGBTQ+ people and found a gap.
Years later, together with co-founder Pierre Gaubert and the myGwork team in London, that early challenge evolved into a clear solution. The Country Ambassador Scheme gives LGBTQ+ professionals a way to find each other across borders and support one another through relocations and career shifts.
Ambassadors act as peers and guides. Depending on their background and availability, they may support you with:
Inclusive employers
Local professional networks
Job-hunting in a new environment
LGBTQ+ visibility and culture at work
Settling into the community
This kind of knowledge shortens the learning curve and gives newcomers a sense of direction from the start.
Any myGwork member can look for a Country Ambassador through the platform:
The platform creates a professional environment where LGBTQ+ people and allies connect around careers, inclusion and shared experience.
We have Country Ambassadors within our very own team too, with Customer Success Managers Lauren Schweppe and Pedro Sanchez acting as peers and guides for their respective countries!
LGBTQ+ professionals who feel ready to support others in their city or country can join the scheme easily:
Once you opt in, members searching for Ambassadors in your area will see you in their results and can reach out. You decide how you engage, for example through occasional advice messages, introductions or more active local networking.
The Country Ambassador Scheme sits within myGwork’s broader mission to advance workplace equality for LGBTQ+ people. Through the platform, members can:
Every move to a new place becomes easier when a community is ready to welcome you. myGwork’s Country Ambassador Scheme gives LGBTQ+ professionals that welcome, along with the professional connections that help careers grow across borders.
